Eugene Cho

an invitation to community and vision

If you’re in Seattle, near Seattle, or have friends around this part of the country, I want to extend an invitation to our church’s community and vision.  Our hope is to be changed by the transforming grace of Christ and subsequently, be agents of change here, there, and everywhere.  Here’s a simple but great video of our faith community [much thanks to Roboto!] and some stuff coming up in November.

Sunday, November 2 – Teaching on Faith & Politics.  All three services at 9.15am, 11am, and 5pm.  Getting ready for the slow of angry emails.

Tuesday, November 4 – Quest hosts elections as a voting booth from approximately 7am-8pm.  Entrance for voting will be through the church basement.  This is a small way for us to serve the larger zipcode around the neighborhood.  [Hopefully, there will be no weird incidents.]

Sunday, November 9 – Learning Conversation with Shane Claiborne.  7-9.30pm.  $7 and $5/students.  If finances is an issue, contact the church office.

Saturday, November 15 – Benefit Concert for Nickelsville Homeless Community @ Q Cafe featuring jeff greer & friends, The Raging Grannies, Tim Harris of Real Change, and Residents of Nickelsville.  $10 or $5 with donation of blanket or winter coat.

Thursday, November 20 – Tyrone Wells in concert at Q Cafe.  $15/presale and $18/door.

Saturday, November 22 – To the Streets Homeless Thanksgiving Meal @ Quest Basement.  An opportunity to bless the street community around Ballard/Interbay.

“Quest is the expression of a vision and dream of a church where truth is sought, mystery acknowledged, compassion and justice embodied, culture and arts engaged, creativity and innovation fostered, diversity and multiethnicity embraced, authenticity and community pursued, and sharing the love of Christ is the great cause.”

One Day’s Wages

My Instagram

These are crazy times in our country and larger world but nevertheless, we're going to keep pursuing the things that God has placed upon our hearts. We're pressing forward...doing our part to reflect mercy, compassion, and justice - locally and globally.

Wednesdays are my @onedayswages office day and I especially love the culmination of hard work for our interns, volunteers, 2 full-time staff, and board as we collaborate with our NGO partners. This week, we signed these checks as we granted out over $75,000 to provide better health care for mothers and their families in Mali and Nepal.

THANK YOU for making this possible Your classic play it cool because you're visiting your old stomping grounds at Princeton and pretend you're not cold but in actuality, you're freezing picture. 20 years, 2 weeks, and counting. What a journey with this woman. I love her...and I want to keep growing in love, honor, and respect. Great to catch up with @jlin7 in Brooklyn at the Nets game. Grateful for his partnership with @onedayswages to support our Girls' Empowerment Fund. The season hasn't been what he hoped for with major injuries...but we can't wait to see you back on the court soon and do what you do. Stay encouraged, brother. Thanks for your faithful witness for Christ. Playoffs! Let's go #11. Point Guard. Living my hoop dreams through my girl.

pc: ed tanaka Following Jesus is not just about going to church. It also involves repenting, seeking justice, loving kindness, walking humbly, feeding the poor, clothing the naked, speaking up for the voiceless, welcoming the refugee, and fighting for the rights of vulnerable. Sometimes, it's scary but Jesus nevertheless commands, "Follow me." Be brave.
