Eugene Cho

an invitation to community and vision

If you’re in Seattle, near Seattle, or have friends around this part of the country, I want to extend an invitation to our church’s community and vision.  Our hope is to be changed by the transforming grace of Christ and subsequently, be agents of change here, there, and everywhere.  Here’s a simple but great video of our faith community [much thanks to Roboto!] and some stuff coming up in November.

Sunday, November 2 – Teaching on Faith & Politics.  All three services at 9.15am, 11am, and 5pm.  Getting ready for the slow of angry emails.

Tuesday, November 4 – Quest hosts elections as a voting booth from approximately 7am-8pm.  Entrance for voting will be through the church basement.  This is a small way for us to serve the larger zipcode around the neighborhood.  [Hopefully, there will be no weird incidents.]

Sunday, November 9 – Learning Conversation with Shane Claiborne.  7-9.30pm.  $7 and $5/students.  If finances is an issue, contact the church office.

Saturday, November 15 – Benefit Concert for Nickelsville Homeless Community @ Q Cafe featuring jeff greer & friends, The Raging Grannies, Tim Harris of Real Change, and Residents of Nickelsville.  $10 or $5 with donation of blanket or winter coat.

Thursday, November 20 – Tyrone Wells in concert at Q Cafe.  $15/presale and $18/door.

Saturday, November 22 – To the Streets Homeless Thanksgiving Meal @ Quest Basement.  An opportunity to bless the street community around Ballard/Interbay.

“Quest is the expression of a vision and dream of a church where truth is sought, mystery acknowledged, compassion and justice embodied, culture and arts engaged, creativity and innovation fostered, diversity and multiethnicity embraced, authenticity and community pursued, and sharing the love of Christ is the great cause.”

One Day’s Wages

My Instagram

Father - daughters bonding (and freezing) time at the Seahawks game. Grateful to the Panthers organization for the tickets. Now, go Hawks. Pound the Panthers. The family that karaokes together stays together. #ChoFamilyKPopFamily Family time in one of my favorite cities in the world - especially when the exchange rate is so favorable. Thank you, Vancouver, for being such a great refuge for our souls for the past 20 years. #QuestVancouver It's the day after...that day.
Be grateful. Again.
We woke up. We're alive.
Breathing. Dreaming.
Pursuing. Embodying. Loving.

It's never that perfect or easy but that we get to try to do these things is reason enough to be grateful to the One who gives us life.

Yes. Be grateful.
That you, Jesus.
#PreachingToMyself This is what real life looks like after a crazy couple weeks. Grateful for this woman. I love her. She's gonna scream at me for posting this pic. #ThoseSocksThough Grateful for the opportunity to encourage 2500 youth leaders & pastors at the @youthspecialties conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. Had prayed for wisdom to encourage leaders and courage to navigate a word for leaders post election about empathy and compassion for the unseen, marginalized, and those experiencing real fear.

Also, what a joy to have my church's youth pastor, @cobycagle, also here teaching. Some years ago, I was a youth pastor for several years in California, Korea, NY, and NJ. They were meaningful years but filled with challenges and loneliness. Sometimes, I felt unseen and insignificant - in comparison to "real" adult ministry. As a lead pastor now, I want to make sure I don't make those mistakes of overlooking our youth and children's ministry and their volunteers and staff.
Pastor Coby, Pastor Katey, Pam, Jalle, and Jasmin: We see you. We appreciate you. We are grateful for your presence and leadership at Quest and beyond. Thank you and all of our amazing volunteers
