We’ve been on a family road trip for 9 weeks for my 3 month church sabbatical.
Honestly, while it’s been fun, it’s also been tiring driving about 7000 miles with 3 kids in the back seats. But after about 9 weeks, we’ll finally be driving back to Seattle tomorrow.
I’m looking forward to sharing some photos and reflections – and I still have about 3 weeks left until I return to my “work” as a pastor at Quest on Sunday, September 25.
Tonight was the last night for our family on this once-in-a-lifetime road trip. Honestly, while I’d love to say that our family can take these trips often and regularly, who knows? My oldest will be a rising junior in high school during my next sabbatical three years from now. Gulp. OMG.
One thing that Minhee and I reflected on tonight was God’s grace and provision through friends, acquaintances, and even “strangers.”
Of the entire 9 weeks that we’ve been on this road trip, we stayed in a hotel for … 4 nights.
Deep gratitude to friends, acquaintances, and strangers…for opening up your homes, hearts, and lives with us.
This was our amazing view tonight. I can honestly tell you that the photo does no justice to the real beauty of what we soaked in but at least click on the picture to see a larger image. Pretty amazing.
God…you are amazing.
Thank you for loving us; pursuing us; saving us; using us; and giving us this rest so that we can continue on for your glory.

Beautiful picture, Eugene.
Glad you’re having a good time. We need you healthy and refreshed. God has placed much upon your heart.
Glad you were able to have such a blessed summer. Awesome that your church lets you have the break away.
Really awesome.
Beautiful photo. I like it.
