i met sarah palin tonight

It’s hard to believe but I met Sarah Palin tonight.  Ok, kind of.  It wasn’t the real Sarah Palin but I was still very excited since I like her…but not in that way.

Our children’s public school had some sort of Fall Festival mixed with Halloween and costumes.  We all went and had a great time.  And lo and behold, one of the kids came dressed up as Governor Sarah Palin.  Check out this pic.  It’s too funny…

But here’s the kicker, it’s a boy dressed up as Sarah Palin.  Had my kids not told me, I would have never known.  He or she was my vote for 1st place in the costume contest.  “Drill, baby, drill.”

Question:

What are you dressing up as for Halloween?

Darwin and I are attending a “versus” costume party – you pair up with someone and come up with a versus theme. Coke vs Pepsi, for example.

We’re thinking about doing Mac vs PC or QWERTY vs Dvorak or something else random and geeky.

I have a feeling that political candidates are going to be big during this Halloween but this kid’s costume is pretty darn impressive. And also, a little scary to be honest.

    I will be Iron Man and I don’t care that I’m 28.

Along the same lines, my politically enthusiastic 15 year old son and his friends plan to dress up as electoral maps with current poll numbers written on each state. They want to ‘trick or treat’ at houses with McCain yard signs. I guess they got the idea from the CNN election maps and some political cartoon with that basic Halloween idea.

No idea how they’re going to pull that off practically.

Made me laugh out loud when I heard it, though.

That picture was funny…until it got creepy…which makes it funny again. Yikes.

  7. Sue says:

I don’t know if I should laugh or not.

Our school avoids the whole issue of whether or not to celebrate Halloween by scheduling student-led (parent-teacher) conferences during then. The only thing I’m going to be dressed up as is… a teacher! haha.

Most likely I’ll be going as Connor from “The Boondock Saints” and I have a friend who will probably be my pair as Murphy. :-D
