Congratulations to Kansas for winning the national men’s basketball championship. What’s the lesson here kids? Practice your free throws.
Also, kudos to Tyler over at Man of Depravity who finished in first place in this blog’s tourney pool. To be honest, no one really kicked butt but he did manage to get 45 out of 63 picks right for 147 points which was 20 points higher than the runner up. Where did I finish? A pathetic 10th place and 27% of all particpants on Yahoo. Tyler: send me your address and I’ll send you your prize – couple free lattes at the world famous Q Cafe.
But having said that…I am making one more prediction. Stanford over Tennessee today. Two superstar players go at it tonight: Candice Wiggins vs. Candace Parker. I flip over Candace Parker’s dunks but am mesmerized by the shorter Candice Wiggins and love her game.

Feel bad for Memphis. They had the game sewn up but will have to live with those missed free throws.
That game last night demonstrates why I like basketball more than other sports: there’s always action and you never know til the last second what’s going to happen,
And SO SORRY your prediction about the women didn’t pan out. We’re rejoicing down here in Tennessee!

The Kansas game was awesome… I was sick about the free throws that lost the game for Marshall, but Kansas earned a huge win in a GREAT game!

That game was SO SAD. I live in Memphis, my parents went to University of Memphis, and we have season tickets to basketball. I’m not even that much of a sports fan and I definitely cried a little at the end. My husband, well, he’s repressing his depression….I expect to find him one day soon crying in bed with a pillow over his head when it hits him. Tragic loss for a team with such heart!
